A walk by the pond

My daughter wanted to take the dog and walk around some ponds that are near our house. I grabbed my Kozy Carrier to wear the baby in since I haven’t used it at all in the 2 months since I’ve gotten my woven wrap and then my ring slings. I wanted to see how it fit now that Baby C was bigger. I still rolled up the bottom, but he fit so much better in it now that he has some head control and I don’t feel like I have to get it so tight to keep his head from wobbling around! He also fell asleep in in after only about 10 minutes, even though he had recently woken up from a 3 hour+ nap!

I also, of course, brought along my camera and got some nice shots of Big C and the dog and of Baby C in the Kozy. I tried to get Big C to take the pictures of me with Baby C, but she grumped at me about it being too bright and not being able to see the screen on the camera. So I had to take them myself. I guess they didn’t turn out so bad.

Before the pond expedition, actually, earlier in the morning, I had asked Big C to watch Baby C for a bit so I could get ready for the day.  For a while I could hear them laughing as she played with him, but then silence…. never good with kids, right?!  So, I went to check to see what she was up to (’cause really, it would be her…he’s only 6 months old and she would have come to get me if he needed something) and this is what I saw…

I mean really…how sweet is that?  She had been reading him books and he was just hanging out listening to her.  So very cute.  There is one good reason to have your kids spaced 8 years apart!  I am really so glad she loves to help out with him. She’s been the best big sister. I hope it continues as he grows older, although I know there will be a time she will think he’s a pest, in the long run she’s going to watch out for him. She actually asked me tonight “when Baby C is old enough to go to school, can I drive him?”  Awwww…
